Evga 970 no video till the windows login screen

My Z97 Pro i7 build may have become a disaster. Need immediate advice.

motherboards not configured correctly for i7-4790K

I'm not experiencing this issue, it seems to run well within range and stays at turbo of 4.2GHz with all cores loaded. I'm running stock with an Asus Z97 Pro motherboard currently.

I don't remember saying it was in this thread? In regards to what you said about the 6350, I was only talking stock. My apologies for not making it clearer. (Which probably wasn't good information due to it being an overclocked 6300 in consideration)

Lower number is better, and it does have an impact. Not much but some. If the settings the OP is using is variable then that may explain the different quantiser.

Is Windows 8 not as stable as 7?

I've found it no different stability wise compared to Windows 7. Though I've not had a single crash on Windows 8, and didn't for a long time on 7.

Yeah, I've given some feedback to some games also. I've tried running my copy of Homeworld 2... Wouldn't run, guessing Windows 7/8 has problems with it? Going to run some old Need For Speeds, Far Cry, and some others too.

Tried to have task manager on second monitor - All the constant resolution changes made it a pain - but from what I can see 3DMark really was poor at utilising my processor.

Yeah, which is what I said. Note: My graphics card is pretty old, and in need of replacement to match the processor better. AMD 6850. Also tried to run Warzone but found it hard to find a server, and one that was ready... So couldn't test really. UFO Alien, seemed to be stuck for me...
