OK, I put in insulators, but the sound is still there...bah. I've resorted to just playing a vid in the background to eliminate the sound. Asus better have a solution for me.
I read that in the hardwareanalysis thread...but the problem is, I've tried depressing the coil with the rubber eraser on my pencil, without any minimization of the noise. In other words, I can't locate the source of the sound.
So I bought this motherboard to replace my old Soyo KT400, and it works just fine.
My problem is that there's a high pitched noise coming from the motherboard or cpu. It seems constant when my computer is idle, but when I am running some applications, it seems to stutter.
Now get this...
Thanks for the offer, but I'm not interested in another Soyo, plus I'd like to buy a new motherboard. In any case, it's not my vid card, ram, or dust, unfortunately. Apparently, this problem is one that many have encountered with this board.
I have the old KT400 Dragon Platinum, and everytime I push the power button to start up my computer I have to hold my breath. Some time's it starts right up; other times I get beep--------beep--beeeeeeeeep, and no video. It looks like it's booting up, but nothing on screen.
So it's time for...
