Raptor Lakes are made in Intel's depreciated DUV fabs so they are dirt cheap. It's Intel's only way to convince OEMs to push their stuff, by bribing giving profit to those OEMs. The "unexpected demand" part is just corporate bullshit.
I think I read back in this post something about day 1 rocm support for Strix Halo? If true, and with the possibility of like 128GB ram, should make the ghetto custormers happy?
The question then is why they don't have a team dedicated to bridging the software gap between internal and external. Or, it could be that they are simply focusing much more on inference at this point?
Maybe a quick follow up question: can you divulge what silivon process Vega Mobile is made in? I believe eatlier roadmap presented by Mark Papermaster put Vega in the 2018 12nm refresh category so I am wondering if Vega Mobile is the one?
