I have this problem, the only way that I can get it to run at 16x is when I first reboot, I let it go thru the memory scan and give it a CTRL+ALT+Del to reboot, after the reboot it always will run at 16x, if I do not reboot it will always run at 1x from a cold boot.
I know there's some Linux distros that is dedicated to being a firewall with a gui interface, is there such a distro that I can install that will only function as a apache/mysql server? I know most distros package apache but I don't want to mess with the configuring and getting the packages for...
I've come across some problems that involve loading Java programs in IE 6.0. I can usually load the program as one user but can not as another. The only fix I can find to the problem is deleting the profile that does not work and creating a new one, once I do this the Java program loads. Is...
Figured it out, PCIE 100mhz would make it stay at x1, but bump it up to PCIE 110mhz and it's at x16, don't really understand why this works though. Thanks for the help.
BTW I have the FSB @ 430, I'm sure that messed with the PCIE.
Okay I reset the BIOS and it went back to x16, but once I oc the cpu it goes back to x1. Only thing I touched in the BIOS was Jumper Free. Is there something else in the BIOS volt wise that I would have to change so it goes back to x16.
I don't understand any of the BIOS settings for the PCIE stuff so I left as is, so when I go into CPU-Z it says Link Width = x1 Max Supported = x16. I'm running at 7900 GTO and it seems sluggish when I'm in games, is there something I'm missing for it to run in x16?
So I got a Sempron 2800 AM2 for dirt cheap to mess around with while I wait for the AMD price drops. I'm trying to get 8x300 = 2.4 on it right now but confused about the DDR2 speeds. I know with plain DDR that ran at 200 I would have to use dividers to go over 200, now since DDR2 is rated at 800...
I just got the Microfly in yesterday, that was quick shipping. It's a nice case but does not come with a PSU so I just ordered the X-Finity 500w, version 2 from what the picture shows, from Radio Shack for $9.99 AR. I'll post some pics in SFF when I get all my parts next week.
I have a A75-231 Toshiba and looking to strip it down. I noticed it is using the P4 548 3.33ghz chip, according to this, it's listed as a Socket 478 chip, so can I use this chip on a desktop mobo? And if so, any suggestions on a good socket 478 mobo?
I'm thinking about building a HTPC and have a question about the video quality of recorded material. I used to own a TV tuner a couple years ago and recorded video awhile back and remembered the quality wasn't that great when played back on my monitor. Does the video look better when played back...
This is a hot deal, I just signed up for it and messed around with all the features, they have a forum, blog, and a picture management software you can easily install with one button. I'm playing with the blog software, WordPress, I've never heard of it until now.
