How much have you got to spend? A good solid setup is:

Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 SATA II drive
Also I would go for Raid 5 and not Raid 1 if you can afford the extra cash.
SSD are not worth wasting time looking at. A dedicated...
Just as a test I disconnected the PC from the router to linked it directly into the cable modem. Too be honest I couldn?t say if it made any noticeable difference or not, it was still really slow.
KAPPO?.I do appreciate that these things are not simple but at the end of the day they must be...
I have turned off the firewall and it still downloads at 2 - 3 K/bs per second. It must be because everyone else is downloading at the moment. Anyway I found it a fileplanet so at least I can get it done now before I have to go Christmas shopping!!!!
Blizzard, not that you give a $h!t but...
Thanks rstove02. Will give it a try.
What really gets me is that these companies take our money and don't care about the service they provide. They are supposed to be professional developers and they think that this sort of performance is acceptable.
The communications industry is moving...
Well just who came up with this P2P download idea? What a load of Bull $h!t that is. I have a 3 Meg broadband link which I pay good money for and when downloading from a good site I can get about 370M/bs per second or 1 Mb in 3 seconds or 20 M/Bs per minute. World of Warcraft patch came out...

A DSL modem connects to one line, if you want to connect a second PC without using a router then you will need a second DSL modem connecting to a second and different line which will mean a second account. This is not the way to do it unless you have a unique reason. The best way is the router...
Your DSL router has a built in 4 port switch so connect both PC's into 2 of the ports. If cabling is an issue then you could buy a wirless Access Point and a wireless network card, both of which are really cheap these days. Connect the wireless access point into one of the spare ports of the...
Can anyone recommend a site that explains in reasonable detail the specs and tech details of memory. Also the priciples of over clocking memory would be good as well.
I had a Dell Deminsion and I changed the hard drive and re loaded windows XP with no problems. Also did the same with my old Latitude C600. In fact as I recall it never even asked for me to activate Windows.
Unless you are having problems or need the BIOS update for something specific then I would strongly recommend that you DONT mess with the BIOS.
Updates are always good to have so spend some time reading the web site and make absolutely sure you understand what you are doing before you go...
I've got the Creative 7.1 speaker system and its really good. I run it on a Creative Audigy 2 with direct 7.1 connection and it works really well with FPS games. The speaker sub woofer box has a switch to down mix to 5.1 so you will still get the benefit from the 2 extra speakers and you...
