Next Total War game (Rome 2)
Sim City
Fallen Enchantress (The Beta is already quite fun, so I'm not that worried about it)
Heart of the Swarm (Fun campaign, bnet is already much better after Tempest nerf, removal of Warhound, and Swarmhost nerf)
Can't think of a 5th... Half Life 3 :D:D:D
Sunk over 200 hours into it so far. Its a really polished game, and the most current patch (1.05) has addressed basically every gripe I had with the game.
I'm not sure if you're part of the Fallen Enchantress Beta, but stardock is definitely in the process of getting it right. The current beta 0.90, is actually really good, complex, and deep. Don't count them out :D
There are many problems with the 'stack of doom'. It gives enormous advantage to the one who happens to attack first, it negates all strategy wrt positioning and tactics, it greatly favours the person who declares war... there are volumes written on this. However, is the cure worse than the...
My experience with 5, besides the demonstrably terrible AI, has been that the fundamental game mechanics are poorly conceived.
-Global happiness is gamey, and is a totally artificial barrier to controlling empire size.
-1 unit per square is extremely annoying. I hate shuffling around 50...
What's different about it that made you like it this time? I played for a few months after release, but it was such a step backwards from BtS that I couldn't keep going.
Fallen Enchantress is an entirely different game. Its up to version 0.76, and its completely fun and playable. The AI is a little easy, and there are some tedious game mechanics and UI issues, but its MUCH better than WoM was. Give it a try if you get the chance :D
Just wondering if anyone else is participating in the beta? I have been playing for several days now, and its coming along really well. Definitely shaping up to be what Elemental should have. There's still a long way to go, but its already much more playable and fun than WoM ever was.
No it isn't. This time, steam is offering concrete numbers, which it almost never does. This tread is not anecdotal conjectures hurled around, its facts.
I really liked it. Its a combo of Total War games with 'choose your own adventure' rpg elements inserted, and set in a fantasy world. I never had any technical issues (although I understand they were common. I had never hear of neocore, and was pleasantly surprised by the polish and quality of...
Apparently it comes out next Tuesday (Jan 10th). I absolutely loved the first one, and this one looks even better. Is there any interest in this game?
