Hundreds means something else is wrong. Timings or overlocking. Could be bad SPD data. Command rates change when you run single channel. Manually set the timings from what they are listed on paper or the RAM label and see if it happens. SET THE VOLTAGE TOO.
There's a program that's supposed to be able to regenerate data from RAID arrays without the controllers, but I can't remember what it was.

I seem to recall the companies to be jittery with are corsair, kingston, and crucial.
Borrow it and see if it can pass memtest and P95 at 1066 with the listed timings and voltages. If it does, buy em.
