Help with setting up a RAID 1 array

possibly. You can go into device manager and force install the right drivers, then reboot and change, but that gets a bit tricky

This doesn't sound important enough to use anything other than a RAID5 off the ICH10R if you have backups.

recommend a Raid 5 card

JBOD does not let you move freely between systems. Independent Disks does, but file management is a nightmare. Also drive failures.

ssd purchase question

7.0 is very high. fast magnetic disks get about a 5.0+, and magnetic raid0's get about a 6.0. You should use a real benchmark though.

what is best format for external HD

Which windows can't read easily. I don't know about mac, but linux can read NTFS (and write)

BSODs and Errors found in Memtest86

Hundreds means something else is wrong. Timings or overlocking. Could be bad SPD data. Command rates change when you run single channel. Manually set the timings from what they are listed on paper or the RAM label and see if it happens. SET THE VOLTAGE TOO.

Moving RAID.0 array to new motherboard (from Nforce4+Sil3114)

There's a program that's supposed to be able to regenerate data from RAID arrays without the controllers, but I can't remember what it was. I have an DFI NF4-SLI-DR, which is probably what you have.

Crucial makes ballistix iirc. And that's the jittery set.

I seem to recall the companies to be jittery with are corsair, kingston, and crucial. Borrow it and see if it can pass memtest and P95 at 1066 with the listed timings and voltages. If it does, buy em.
