Sometimes i don't know what the fuzz is all about. I installed Windows 10 x64 back in summer 2017 on the first release cycle of the 32GB Stony Beach. Bootdrive without a hassle. The Controler won't change so the Write Performance will still be castrated.

TBH in my daily usage i could not tell a difference between my 280GB AIC version and my old 850 Evo SATA with 250GB.
PCM is still the best tech to look forward :)
I played around with a 32GB optane caching M.2 device this summer and never got it run as a caching drive with a PM961 256GB M.2 ssd on a Asus b250M mainboard so i decided to use it for nearly 3 weeks as a windows only boot device.
Most UEFI's give you the option under the PCH settings to setup...

The price for the Memory drive alone is ~2K$ so it's not surprising that Intel decided against it for the client market.
That's my concern but even as a hardcore enthusiast i struggle to see the benefits for the consumer.
I think the prices for the 900p are somewhat a first step in the right...
The lightning alone makes ACO the "best" looking game 2017. Frostbites shaders are so dull compared to anything else and idtech is just a AMD marketing joke nowadays.

Since the CPU Thread got so many attraction i just wanna point out that AC Origins is really a nice PC Game (as long as you have the faith to struggle through the Main Quest line which is pure Consolitis).
I played alot AoC (2008 till 2010) back then and the fun is by far the same in Origins...
Nvidia calls Pascal the 10 series: 10 for uArch and then the Performance Moniker aka 50/60/80 and so on.
My bet is that Nvidia changes the Numbers and will perhaps go with "something" new aka Intels i3/5/7 or AMDs R series model.
And i hope Nvidia overhauls the Driver-Frontend and removes...

had 2 of them in SLI after laughing my ass of why Jensen still kept the name (SLI=!SLI) so yeah: good Doom3 times but otherwise the nv45 is bust (G80 still rocks da house).
