It's not quite stock, but clearly not a lot better. I put an Arctic Cooling GT 64 on it with AS5. Supposedly it takes 200 hours to break in, so maybe in a couple of weeks I'll be down to your temps :-). Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

I didn't think about moving the power connector like that. I actually looked at that cooler but ruled it out because of the power connector. What thermal paste did you use? Did you undervolt at all? Right now, I have it idling around 42 cpu and 23 core, so about 5 degrees worse than you and...

Looks like I may have spoken to soon. After resetting the heatsink and running the TV for a few hours, it is settling around 55C CPU and 40C Core. Hopefully that took care of this. Update: After 45 minutes of prime95, it's sitting around 64C CPU and 57C Core. Hasn't really gone up since the 10...

I have cleared cabling as much as possible. Cables are, for the most part tucked out of the way. I do have the one adjustable fan on the highest setting and both are exhausting, but even then they don't push a lot of air. I'm just mainly concerned that with the aftermarket cooler and as5 it...

Turned out to just not like booting up with HDMI only the first time around. Hooked it to a VGA monitor, setup everything and I'm good to go now. Thanks to all for your help.

Thanks, very helpful. I got a case speaker connected finally, and it doesn't make any beeps at all when the memory is plugged in, and makes three long beeps when no memory is in, so I know the speaker works for sure. Really hoping that the memory from my nephews PC (really similar to yours...

Great info. Could you tell me specifically which Gskill set you used? I was going to use that brand, but wanted something low profile since it's a tiny case. My nephews PC I built last year has Gskill, so that will make for a good test subject.

The voltage of the memory I bought is 1.5V, which, based on looking at Newegg appears to be the most common voltage. Going to try it in my nephew's PC to see what happens. Hopefully it won't work and I'll at least know the answer to my problems, but I guess I have my doubts. Could it be...
