Battery life on the ST proprietary sensors is known to be really really poor....somewhere on the order of a few weeks to a few months.

UPDATE: it only seems to control lights, in my case, GE link, Hue, and Leviton switches...but works flawlessly Guessing other connected device control (Garage door, locks, etc) is not far away.

not sure if anyone noticed, but Echo now control all Wink HA devices...linked it up to my Wink account this morning! Also, Wink is allowing for reverse compatibility, in their next app update you can add the Echo as a device, presumably similar to adding a Nest or Philips Hue.

Hmmm...you may have made a mistake here...not too many users speak highly of the Tapt. I would have recommended Leviton switches first, then Lutron.

Well lets back up a little... I don't have local control technically, but I use the Philips Hue Bridge to control all of my zigbee bulbs which provides immediate response (may or may not be local control specifically) Echo now natively supports Philips Hue and Wemo, so it just works. Wink...

just got my Philips Hue Lux Kit ($80), switched all my GE link bulbs over it to, and now have local control of all through the Hue Bridge. Not to mention my Amazon Echo now control them via voice control as well! nice to have that immediate response through the app and also voice.

I get the feeling they wont be rolling new firmware out as frequently as before and Local Control will hopefully be the next big update on the hub. The last major update was for polling.

I agree there is lack of release notes and such, you just have to pay attention to whats in the app "whats new" description for direction on what to test. The latest beta just came out a day or two ago allowing for timers on triggers in robots..."if door has been opened for X secs/mins, do this"

Nest or a Honeywell WiFi supported thermostat are about the only thing I can think of that work with Wink and as a standalone.
