Thanks Sorry, but I solved the problem. It was a conflict with damn Daemon Tools. Uninstalled it and I've just burnt 2 dvds at 16x without a problem. Now I need to work out how to keep DT but prevent the conflict. Really need to use it at the moment.
I recently replaced my LiteOn DVD burner as it was starting to act up. I got another IDE burner - a Samsung - since I can use it in my older systems if need be. But practically all the cd-r's, dvd's I burn contain errors, or just won't burn at all. No matter what program I use they will often...
Apparently that used to cause problems but I thought it had been fixed in the newer bios's. I have my external plugged in all the time, as well as usb sticks sometimes and it hasn't caused any issues since the boot issues went away. I think some usb devices are worse than others though.
BTW...
On the topic of backing up before OC'ing, doesn't anyone else here use FirstDefense-ISR? I use it and put my snapshots in archives on a different drive where they're safe. That's usually enough to keep me out of trouble. But on the odd chance overclocking corrupts the OS to the point no...
Wow that would be really good if it fixes the double boot. Any other notable changes in the bios? Settings added/removed? Half multipliers or anything like that?
I think also there is conflict over what people mean by "double post". The true double post is a "feature" of the P35 chipset. Sometimes the mobo will try to post, then try again with different settings and be successful. Then there are times when it will reset once more again, but this time it...
It has support for the new E8xxx's.
Interesting the date is 6th December. Looks like they've release betas to support the Wolfdale's for a few of their boards.
BTW guys, I just found these settings as recommended by Greg from Mushkin for their 4-4-4-12 rams on the DS3L. However I think it may be a good place to start for other ram as well.
Hold CTRL+F1 at main bios screen to get access to memory timing options
CPU Clock Ratio - Auto
CPU Host...
Do you mean you are setting the timings to 4-4-4-12? That may be the problem. Try relaxing them. Or try leaving memory settings on Auto.
The problem with mine is this: pretty much every guide says to set memory timings as per memory spec, and leave the sub-timings on auto unless you know what...
Regalk, I think you are correct now. In some respects anyway.
Like I said previously my system has been running fine for almost 2 weeks now. But I had memory settings set to auto. Today I put them on manual but never changed anything else. The machine would not hold the OC and reset. After...
Yeah but that doesn't explain how for some people the system overclocks without a problem for a while, and then goes to sht. Like with me. I certainly wasn't pushing my ram or anything else outside its boundaries.
The fact the majority of people say their comps are rock solid in Windows...
Hey Regalk, when does the double boot occur? I'm also using F6 at the moment since it seems the most stable for me. Were you using the same 412x8 with the E2160? How much vcore did you need?
RapidJunior, did your board always have problems or did it overclock ok when you first got it?
