hey krotchy,
thx for bringing that up. that's what i meant is when i enable crossfire i know it'll just go to one monitor and won't do dual monitors, which is fine. so it'll only be driving one monitor. the big thing i was wandering is i have found out that crossfire does 1920x1200 but...
i was about to pull the tigger and get a crossfire MB with the new 3200 xpress chipset.
but my main monitor (that i'll game on) is the dell 24" lcd that runs at 1920x1200 at 60hz. will crossfire do that?
if not then no crossfire for me.
thanks nitromullet for that list.
i'm not seeing any micro atx board there so ati may be the way to go here. from reviews i've seen - it seems like the 1900xtx can push 1920x1200 res with AA fairly well - at least better then my 7800gtx.
but whatever MB i get it has to micro atx because my...
i'm trying to decide between either a 1900xtx or a 7950gx2 and then which MB to buy. the MB has to be micro atx.
i know quad sli is not out yet if i went with the 7950gx2 and i'm not even sure it would work in the sli MB i would buy.
but here's what i'm thinking.
if i go with a 1900xtx...
aweomse - thx for all the info. and i'll prob def go am2 if i go amd.
budget it probably around 2200 - not in stone yet. and yea this is a zero tinkering computer - the case will probably never be opened again, except for the occasional can-o'air clean out, for the next 3-4 years. all the...
quietness will not be a huge issue.
as far as using ddr2 in the future - i know ddr2 is faster then ddr - but whatever is put in this machine - it is a type of machine that he will not upgrade for 3 years or so - not a pc enthusiast - just wants a kick butt machine that's up to date now.
I've built a few machines in the past - but all geared towards gaming.
1. Processor - I def want to go dual core and I'm leaning towards the x2 4800+ (that is if I stay with the socket 939). Would their be any advantages with going to an Intel based dual core chip for non-gaming apps? (Just...
i ordered this card to tide me over for a while. my previous card was an agp x850xt pe.
i was suprised when the 7600gt booted up source at 1920x1200 everything high and 2xaa and maintained 50-100 fps - avg around 60. Some maps though just pegged at 100fps.
i played around with cod2 a...
i have an x850xt pe in my old comp - it used to have a 9600xt - and when i upped to a x850xtpe it was a huge increase - if you are still agp and that's what you are going to stay my advice would be to pick either the 7800gs or the x850xt (pe if preferred) because they are the fastest you are...
