Is Win10 still free from 8 after sale ends?

so i assume all the data tracking and telemetry will be removed from Windows 10 once the free promotion period ends? And that those buying a boxed copy will gain full control of the PC THEY bought and choose when and if updates happen? yes. sarcasm.

The final push to get users to convert to win 10 (for "free")?

That is what i have done. I unplugged all drives. installed a spare 120g SSD. Installed Win10 via ISO and activated with one of my 3 Win 8.1 keys. Looked around for a bit at Win10. Pulled the SSD and went back to Win 8.1 on my game only machine. The other 2 former Win 8.1 machines now run Ubuntu...

I've destroyed 3 USB flash drives trying to image them with Windows ISOs. WTH?

I have had this happen on flash drives. Sometimes it shows 0 bytes available. Sometimes it shows like 2g available (on a 32g drive) Drive Manager does not fix it. Cannot delete partition and make new one. found out that the command "Diskpart" works great. Run diskpart list disk Note the disk...

ubuntu 16.04

I DL and put 16.04 on a USB drive on Thursday. I backed up what i wanted to keep. Had been using older 1T drive with 15.10. Wanted to get a newer and larger drive for 16.04 so got a 2T on Friday. Thus i did a clean install onto a new HD. Installed on Friday and it went very well. I dont do...

so maybe silly question but In regards to Windows 10 and windows automatic updates. When / how does Windows restart your system after an update? I mean, if you in the middle of working on a spreadsheet or in the middle of playing a game, does the system just restart or does Windows wait...

What do you think of Zorin OS?

Anyone else REFUSE to get Windows 10 upgrade?
