System failed doe to CPU overclocking

Thanks for the replies: Power Supply was Antec 350 and it did this Changed to Antec 430 True Power and it did it again today Have already re seated the CPU Memory timings and voltage...are set to default. I select F2 to set everything to default and it works fine for a day or so and then bam...

System failed doe to CPU overclocking

After turning on the computer, but before it starts to boot. The system will turn itself off and the message above comes thru the speakers. I'm not overclocking and have tried a bigger power supply, re seating the CPU. Will boot and work forever once hitting F2 and running default settings. Any...

What Mobo for a P4 2.4 533Mhz fsb

DVD causing BSOD

Have a Compaq 5822 desktop with a DVD/CD ROM. Every time a CD is placed into the drive (doesn't matter if DVD, CD data, CD music, etc) it BSOD. Message says something about VxD SCSI1. The computer doesn't have a SCSI. It has a 500 Celeron, 96mb memory. I'm trying not to do a system restore...

I can see now why it would not post... I see....said the blind man! It would have been easier to choose another motherboard and I'm not one to go scratching into a processor although the price of the Duron right now is almost worth the experiment. Thanks!

ASUS CUV266

All the boards have ATA 100 support. Your IDE devices especially the CD ROM and Burner may not be detected as running at UDMA. Install the 4 in 1's and SP 2 and everything should be able to be set to UDMA in windows after it is installed.

If you decide to go with the coppermine Socket 370 you will need the adapter card. There were several minor issues that came up when using the adpater cards in the P3V4X mobo. Some adapter cards caused registry error windows to come up after booting. Usually the problem was fixed by re-seating...

Using ECC memory on an ASUS P3V4X? (VIA Apollo Pro133 chipset)

ECC Memory will function if the memory is stand alone on the board. If you mix Non ECC with ECC the memory will default to NON ECC just as if you mix PC 100 with PC133 the faster memory will default to PC100. Also remember that running more than two double sided memory chips with the VIA...
