corrupt SFX CAB archive

hi I think what i have is a corrupt SFX CAB what it was packed with i don't know,,Only info i have from the archive tab is VERSION TO EXTRACT : 1.3 HOST OS : WINDOWS plus the file size...... but when i try to launch it the error "the application failed to intialize properly" appears...

What's the best way to get rid of the Backdoor trojan?

hi rbloedow just wanted to say good choice on win2k :) I had a suggestion but ya probally don't need it now :) i also have a gateway box that came with ME .... which i quickly ditched for 2k .... but what i found was that 2k runs better on fat32 than NTFS for mine well that's it ,hope it...

I am sticking w/ Win2K Pro

i'll stick with 2k ,I've no complaints with this OS 99% of the time it does what it's supposed too no real interest in xp gonna wait and see what blackcomb is like

i found an article describing how to change the win2k boot logo .bmp here http://www.littlewhitedog.com/reviews_other_00021.asp it requires that system file protection be disabled which i don't really want to do.. does anyone know an alternate way to acccomplish this please help many thanks bn

security settings in IE ?

hi, yes i have had tiny personal firewall installed for a couple of weeks but this just started happening yesterday could it be that my firewall is causing this problem thanks bn

security settings in IE ?

Would anyone know why the security levels for the different zones in IE keep resetting themselves to custom level every time I launch IE,at the moment i have to go in to the security tab and apply the default level for every session ?? suggestions very welcome thanks bn

W2K defrag

what can i tell ya...that's how it is for me LOL :) i'm not complaining though coz it does do a great job. system P3 667MHZ 256RAM ~BN

Never had a problem defragging win2k with diskeeper but it's very slow, my drive 20GB with 4GB used - time to defrag 2hrs40mins approx. boottime defrag for the swapfile even slower make sure you run error-checking before each defrag ~BN

What is the ZipToA W2k Service?

<< It's used to map the Zip drive to a floppy drive letter, >> Hans so what happens if i disable it ...do i lose my drive letter for my external zipdrive? i'm unsure of the meaning here thanks!

Thank you for all the replys being a newbie i'm not sure i'm brave enough to go through with that kb though lol given that i'm not having any problems that i can see ,I might aswell leave it be it was just one of those things i needed some advice on thx y'll :)

low level format

wanted to do a completely clean install of win2k ,i discovered some errors when trying to run .exe at the dos prompt,Microsoft said this behaviour was by design when upgarding from 98 to 2000. thanks ...found the tool on my system CD all is well now :)
