Sandy bridge on sale

There are two other threads here in the CPUs and Overclocking forum of Anandtech which touch on the subject of processor to processor comparison. Clock for clock, the advantage appears to be with Sandy Bridge by 10% to 20% ... but that's just me throwing around what I recall having read...

Is Sandy Bridge REALLY worth the wait?

If you are really on the fence, consider buying the FS/FT items that will result from the early adopters going down the road to Sandy Bridge. This gives you a reason to hold off so that you can see the real-world advantages to Sandy Bridge ... if there are any. There are a couple of wolfdale...

I7950 or Sandybridge Core i7-2600K?

My ASUS P8P67 PRO Intel P67 LGA 1155 should arrive on Monday (via excaliberpc). I would have purchased it thought buy.com, but it was actually coming from ElectronicaDirect, which has terrible resellerratings reviews. I am local to MicroCenter so I think I'll go to Church on Saturday...

There is also benefit to having the ability to run multiple applications, performing simultaneous tasks, each with access to it's own processor thread. 1.lame/winamp/wmp/itunes decoding cd's to mp3's 2.dvd movie playback 3.browsing sites with silverlight/flash 4.active ftp download...

NEWBIE wants your advice on building a computer.

You need one DVDRW to satisfy the requirements that you've responded with. Going with a DVD drive (read-only) allows you to play games off of that drive, while you copy/write to the second optical, a DVDRW. You can probably save $11 by having drive D: a DVD and drive E: a DVDRW. Best...

I didn't write that clearly, at all. The $199 rate did not include some type of add-on (around $10), so the deal was ~$210. I presumed it was some type of federal tax of a sort. Looking for invoice ... It wasn't tax at all, it was $10.26 universal service fee. $209.26 (two year deal)...
