I might, I just thought I'd try all the hard core tech guys who know a lot more than me. In addition, I don't want a sales pitch from Wacom telling me to buy their overpriced (but awesome) cintiqs.

What Videocard will work with these specs?

I forgot to mention one important spec....my power supply is a corsair tx 750W...will this be a compatible power supply for everything in my case, and the radeon 5870? (right connectors, etc.) Thanks in advance, and this should be the last question.

Thanks for the responses guys. I apologize for the poor communication, but when I mentioned my chipset being limited, I was referring to the ATI aspect of it and not the 5000 series aspect. Regardless, now it seems I just need to do some measuring to make sure those cards fit.

Thanks for the quick response. I just recently got a new samsung 24 inch monitor. It does 1920 x 1080. But i feel like the 512 memory is short changing me on setting everything on high (aa and AF) Thanks.

Advice before I make my purchase on new PC

I will be running Vista 64, and Yes, while it is for gaming...I will be running hardware intensive Cubase for music recording and Photoshop for editing/art post production stuff. Plus, I've made up my mind on quadcore, but I will take the Mobo and Hard drive advice under consideration, thanks.

Q9450 or Q6600?

Q9450 or Q6600?

I'm trying to decide between getting a Q9450 Yorkfield or a Q6600 for my new build. Any suggestions/opinions would be nice. Please stray away from the "neither, go dual core." I've decided I want to go quad, now I just need to know which one, or even if there is another one better than both of...

Need suggestions on these parts for new build

Ok guys. Thank you for the advice. DSF, do you have any opinion on the CPU? Quad or Dual? I know a great deal of people say go Dual, but Quad just seems like a better choice to me for a PC to last a little longer. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Thanks for all the input. I am just going to transfer my current hard drives into the new setup. They are SATA II I believe, so I should be ok. I'm not just a gamer, like I said, Cubase is a resource hog, and so are some other programs that I run as well. So I guess, just to reiterate, are...
