Thanks
Well after nearly a month of review reading and question asking, I have finally settled on the final product. Unfortunetely it has cost me slightly over $1000 when I was hoping to keep it around $700, but this should be a killer rig. Heres the specs:
Opteron 146 tested at 2.8ghz on air

Will this power supply with 20 pin connector be good enough for my new build?

Ok, after reading this review:

I have ruled out the x850 series. Now I just wish someone would show the difference in performance between the 256mb and 512mb x1800xt's.
Damn, making a decision gets tougher the more I look into it. I think I have ruled out the x1900xt though. I can't see spending $450 on a video card when I could buy an Xbox 360 plus Oblivion for damn near the same price.
I have a feeling the x850xt will be plenty for me. And by going that...
If I spend $200+ I cant see myself upgrading within the next 2 years. I don't upgrade often. Heck im still using a ti4200 which I got back in 2002 or 2003 I think.
I haven't been reading up on AM2, Conroe, or DX10 much. Is now a bad time to upgrade to a Nf4 64 bit system?
Hmm, not bad. I think my problem is if im going to splurge im going to do it right. So im either going to spend $150 or go all out and spend $300+ and get at least the x1800xt 512MB. Is the x1900 worth checking out if im going to consider breaking the bank?
I had the Sapphire 512MB x1800xt in...
Im building a new PC in order to play oblivion. My current Barton 2500+ with GF4 Ti4200 is just pathetic.
Ive already decided on the opteron 146, DFI LP Ultra-D, and 2gb G.Skill PC4000 RAM, but can't decide on the card no matter how many reviews I read.
I would like something that will run...
ATI R520 Sapphire X1800XT 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E 16x Video Card - $285/$255AR shipped @ NewEgg
How? This is the card im currently looking for and waiting for a price in that range but all I see is $305 shipped?
But why is it lower priced? Is there something im missing? Also would the PC4000 with timings of 3-3-3-8 be capable of titer timings if run under stock speed? Im not really sure how timings work and truthfully which ones are important.
Im building a new system:
DFI nF4 Ultra-D
Opteron 146
x1800xt
and I cant decide on which RAM now. My opteron runs at 2.7ghz on air so Id like RAM that can run 1:1 hopefully up until at least 250. So should I get 2gb PC4000 or 2gb PC3200 with titer timings?
The part that confuses me is...
Ok, this is seriosuly rediculous. Their site has been broken for over 12 hours now. They have to be losing some decent money by not being able to accept orders. Makes me almost not want to deal with a company who doesnt have their ****** together.
