i think you are half right.. i think alot of "factory refurbs" are 100% working boards that were returned by users who mistakenly think they are defective.
not sure where you got your info, but bios can easily be updated. and latest bios update fixes the memory issue when using all 4 dimms.
the good prices seem to be back.. i just bought 2x 730i boards at $29 shipped
also a bunch of video cards added, not to mention an x58 sli board for $79 shipped (newegg has the same board for about $200)
i received the board today (730i), i paired it with an e3200. its running great and im surprised at all the advanced overclocking features (i figured with a cheap board it would only have the basic overclocking features, if any at all.)
also it did come with the i/o plate. i wasn't expecting...
ive usually had really good luck with refurb motherboards, im not exactly sure what "b-stock" means, but im in for one of the $29 boards. it has all the features i want/need
since its only $29 shipped, now i gotta decide if i want an extra one or two.
btw: i have years worth of trades with AT people, and i save all the html files of the back and forth conversations. which is where i was able to find the .gif of my cow.

no idea how accurate that is, but it claims 7600 is hacked version of the RC build (just made to show 7600 in the build info)

and incase your not aware torrents can be used for truly legitimate purposes. plenty of freeware tools that i personally use i downloaded through bittorrent. this was by going to the authors...
after a quick google search im wholly unimpressed with the sites i found for bike parts (not motorcycle.. but bicycle)
