HELP: Cutting plexiglass.

If you use a jigsaw, get a fine blade for it and like said above, go slow. Like said above, tape the glass and the saw so the friction doesn't wear the glass. Works great for me and I'm kind of an all-thumbs modder.

Overclocking issue with the 2500+

Why don't you try moving up in 5 mhz steps? A lot of systems don't take well to being pulled straight up to 200. Anyway you might give it a try. Maybe also set your timings to expert and 2.5 3 3 11 which is kind of standard relaxed timings for overclocking and then tighten them up later...

Fry's is coming to Oxnard

Oxnard has a lot of higher end housing now; the colonia is still there but overall I think it's a pretty nice city. Lots safer than say Long Beach. I'll be coming all the way down from Santa Maria and that's 90 miles but it's worth it! Thanks for the news.

Overclocking an AMD 2400+Athlon Xp

CPU fried?

Yeah, it's probably installed right, but we all make mistakes - is it hot to the touch? That seems kind of high to me for an amd processor also; no offense at your install, things go wrong. But did the hsf seem hot? The exhaust? Was the fan on the right way? Believe me, I do so many dumb...

noob q: radeon mobility: shared memory?

This is for a student of mine who has a laptop; I've never owned one. He wants to know if his radeon mobility video chip shares system memory. I googled it and got differing results so I got lazy and ran here. He wants to know if he can expand or reduce the memory he shares if it does share...

You can also use heavier threaded screws and screw the fan into your hs; that is what I do on thermalrights and it seems a lot more secure than tying the fan or those nasty tiny wire things thermalright uses on your cpu hs's. Just get some screws a tinier bit bigger than your fins and screw 'em...

Just got converted to AMD....long time intel man.

NICE rig. Post how it does please. I'm running a 1700+ and a 2500+ so I'll be bound to be impressed no matter what. Shim's right, where's the love? This is a nice system!

Power supply question

You could tie them off and shove them behind the psu or on top. Or next time you're taking out your mobo, route them behind that. But I agree, cut 'em off and you'll want 'em.

Is the 12V PSU plug really necessary to boot?

Folks seem to have nasty issues once in a while o/clocking without it; but I run 2 8rda+'s that don't require it and they overclock just fine by me.
