Also, I should add, if anyone has suggestions for a heatsink/fan combo for the CPU that would be great. I rarely use the included retail option, unless this one happens to be really great. I would prefer something that uses a 120mm fan, as I love the balance of quiet and powerful it provides...

Sounds great, but I don't see the deal on the site for the CPU/mobo combination that is discounted. Still compelling, as it's well within my budget. Is the initially recommended motherboard still decent for overclocking? I'm not hardcore into it, but the ability to eek a little extra juice...

I guess I'lll get a flash drive for that purpose. The good news is that I flashed the older F4 BIOS (Using @BIOS) and everything is peachy again. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Can you install older BIOS versions? Also, I haven't tried resetting the CMOS. I guess I'll give that a go next. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

I guess I don't have to have it. However, I have no floppy drive. How can to go back to an old BIOS without one? Will burning the stuff to a CD work? Can that BIOS update program make use of the DVD-RAM drive?

EasyTune - Software Overclocking

I have a Gigabyte P35-DS3R, so it came with EasyTune5. I'm quite sure it's compatible. Also, can't you play with the memory timings via the BIOS, but then adjust clockspeed/FSB/memory with EasyTune?

Gotcha. Oh well, I think I'll just stay 32-bit for the time being. It is already unlike me to go Vista so early. Hell, I still have 2000 Pro on the computer I'm posting from. I will setup different partitions so that the format/reinstall will be less painful. Most likely I wouldn't upgrade...
