Opteron 165 start.

I found that my 165 went to about 2.5ghz easily with no extra volts, but to squeeze the other 200mhz out of it I had to really step of the voltage (stock is 1.3 I'm at 1.568). I'm not using the same motherboard as you, so your numbers will be different, but I don't know why you can't go past 2ghz.

Opteron 165 start.

Well, after much procrastination I got it 100% stable at 2.7ghz at 1.568v. I think that's as far as I will take it. :)

Wow Zebo I gues you jinxed me :( I woke up this morning, turned on the pc, and the BIOS said Bad CMOS Checksum, reverting to defaults. So now I am back to 1.8ghz and 1.3v. All my ram is back to normal as well. I guess I shouldn't have spoken so soon ... :( I will start over again after I...

OK so I started the overclock tonight, I'm up to 2.61ghz, and it seems stable (still only like 34 degrees C). I ran the benchmark on prime95 3 times each per core (both cores at once). When I got to about 2.4 I had to up the voltage to 1.4v. My ram proved to be a ah heck, and I have all the...
