Replacing Q6600: i5-750, i7-930 or Xeon?

Looking to upgrade video card

Based of what cusideabelincoln said, you could upgrade your setup with a 4890 video card as they are being blown out now ($170) and add a E8400 dual core ($165). Don't know how much memory you have but this would be a heck of an upgrade for less than $350.

8800GT 512MB vs 8800GTS 512MB (G92)

GTS really isnt that much more - and for me it's more about noise and heat management than pure speed. I think newegg has 8800GTS at $200AR so for $20-30 worth it.

9800 GTX Reviews Thread

Wow Just checked prices for 8800 GTS - was waiting for prices to go down. They went up from 6:00am est this morning. The MSI 8800GTS (G92) was $209 AR this morning and it is now $239. The eVGA 8800GTS was $229 and is now $279. Should have bought yesterday knowing that the 9800GTX was a marketing...

Whats the best gaming video card for the money now?

Why not just go with a 8800GT with a nice cooler for 189.99 AR? MSI 8800GT OC Doesn't make sense not to spend $20-50 more for the performance jump over 9600GT or 8800GS and a quiet cooler.

Appopin, if you consider something almost twice as loud (sone) and 2.5 times the RMS pressure amplitude as not noticable you need to get your hearing checked. 4dBA is a signficant difference in loudness.

The 8800GTS V2 looks like a decent card. I really doubt that it will be $100 more than the 8800GT 512MB, if it is it will have limited sales and the price will come back down. Not really worth more than $50 premium over the 8800GT. Also if you're looking for dual slot 8800GT check this out...
