Which case to choose for new system?

The TT Tsunami doesn't have a plastic exterior. You must be talking about the Soprano. The Tsunami has a brushed aluminum door and painted aluminum body. Same interior as the Soprano though. That said, if you can afford it, go Lian Li.

Better Case?

I'd say the Tsunami because it is a larger aluminim case, so it'll have more space to dissipate heat. The stock fans on the Tsunami are rated around 53ish CFM. I'm not certain. I found them to blow a lot of air, but were too noisy for my taste.

Quiet case fan?

Coolermaster does have a couple of "quiet" and "really quiet" lines of 120mm fans. I've played with both. The 13-14db fans are absolutely whisper quiet, but they barely push any air whatsoever. If you just mount the fan and then do not plug in the power connector, you will get the cooling power...

Child-resistent case

I went with a Thermaltake Tsunami to keep my 3y/o out and it has worked well. Plus, I thought it a step up from the crappy plastic Antec doors.

Couple of questions on the Thermaltake Tsunami

Need how-to on thermalpad removal

You can also use a polish remover/acetone type product. Works great. Better than alcohol I've found.

Compressed air for cleaning

The only thing to be careful of with using compressed air is blowing it directly on fans. I ruined an NV5 silencer by blowing the dust off the fan. I've heard of others destroying case fans that way as well. Basically, they aren't designed to spin beyond a certain speed. If you do want to...

Looking for a good quality, cheap case

Look at the Compucase LX-6A19. Available from Directron for $40 (price just went up from $36). Antec clone but without the fugly plastic door. It is dead silent.

Thermaltake Tunderblade Fan (120mm)

Any case other than Sonata with locking front door?

I bought a Thermaltake Tsunami for exactly that reason (little fingers). A couple of their cases have locks on the door.

SilenX Fans

I bought the SilenX fans after trying several different quiet fan makes and models. I am very happy with them, as they do two things very well: 1. Silence - I cannot hear the 2x120mm and 1x92mm fans while sitting two feet from them 2. Cooling - My case temps have remained constant (28 degrees)...

Antec Super Lanboy or TT Tsunami ?

I looked at the LanBoy but went with the Tsunami. The Tsunami cools well but I found the stock fans too loud for my ears. I believe they are rated around 53 cfm but well above the 21bd claim. I replaced them with SilenX and they are awesomely quiet and my case temps haven't changed. Don't...

Been using my TT Tsunami for a week...

I started replacing the fans in my Tsunami with quieter ones. The front fan is the noisiest because of its proximity so if you replace just one, do that one, next would be the side 92mm fan. After trying several different brands, I put in 14db 120mm and 92mm SilenX fans. They are expensive, but...
