New Computer Building Woes: CD ROM Help!

Try installing the chip set driver for the mobo. if you use a 98 startup disk does it detect the cdroms?

What do you guys think of computer shows?

I go to computer shows all the time. You have to know what your looking for and what is a good price. Don't rely on the sales people for info. most don't know what there talking about. I don't worry about geting ripped off because some of the tables are local retailers within driving...

I bought one of these for my mom. She loves it because it's "cute" If you like tweaking or over clocking this aint for you. The 100w power supply is plenty because you can't add anything to it. There are no pci slots for future upgrades so if your video goes tits up your screwed...

Why can't I see both cdrom drives in DOS?

I'm not sure if this would be much help but I used a WinME boot disk and it saw both my CD and CDRW drive. If you could get your hands on one try that.

What temp should a K6III+ 450 run at???

I had that processor and it ran at about 105f (sorry I can't do the conversion) I always thought that was a little hot but It's been going for a few years now with no problems.

While cleaning out my computer room at work I found a box labled FIBER and inside were 2 8ft lengths of fiber and three ISA fiber NIC's. Are they worth anything?

installing network card on HP 300Mhz

Do you have a modem installed as well? Some times they want to use the same irq. I've always had trouble getting a network card to work in a machine with a modem installed.
