the amd duron 800 heatsink is all aluminum with a footprint slightly larger, but is quite a bit taller. i am not worried about the asethics. will it take away the heat sufficently? and can i still plug it into the power onboard?
my guess is no on the plugging in... i think the current 8500...
i haven't had it oc'd for the past year....
some generic one. i replaced it with an antec smart power and it still didn't work.
i reseated the cpu with new thermal paste and cleaned it out the last time it failed too.
update: as usual... the problem is tempermental. and now...
My computer won't get pass initial POST screen....
I thought it was a hard drive issue, since in the last year... I've gone through three hard drives with fairly light usage. It would lock up in windows and generally a shutdown and reboot would help. And it seemed like it was occuring only...
the dyanmic backlight feature is only currently available for the onboard video....
i just want a 13-14 inchish widescreen with dual channel ddr2 and onboard video with high def audo and the new card slot... is that too much to ask for? i haven't seen a single laptop like that.
the m45 is a new laptop from toshiba using the new centrino platform. the only downside is that it uses ddr2700 which is a bottle neck... however for that price, it's a pretty good deal. are you sure it was the m45 and not one of the older toshiba's?
does the dell 6000 support DUAL DDR2, not single channel DDR2? According to tomshardware, it's an important to have dual channel ddr2 for the integrated graphics.

who the heck runs a T1 in a home? and needs to make a decision right away.... for a home. it's pretty impractical to run a T1 in a home when DSL and Cable are a lot cheaper and provide the same speeds or better. You could even go dual DSL and Cable, and it'd still be cheaper than a T1 :P It...
get a new board... the one you have goes for about $45. its not worth spending all of that money on that thing. you can get a cheap nforce board for around $70 nowadays.
