Who are you calling an old timer? (actually I was suprised my account was still active)
I haven't posted here in several years, but this used to be my home away from home. I haven't done much crunching myself since shortly after the RC5-64 challenge ended.
I still lurk around here once in...

It's mixed emotions for me that RC5 is now done. It's been an addiction of mine for a long time.

Oldtimer, I resemble that remark ;)
I just wanted to pop in to say HI to the old gang. I still scan the forums once in a while, but never seem to find the time to take an active role these days. I do however still run the RC5 client, and will until that project is complete. I still even have...
dhs.org just came back up for me here. Plus I answered my own question and found many other Free DNS Services by using the search engine here on these wonderfull forums.
Thanks for the word on dhs.org. I was at a client site today a really needed to pull some files too, but I couldn't remember my IP. Any word on what's going on? I can't even resolve their main site. I hope they didn't pull the plug.
Can anyone recommend another free DNS service I could use as a...

DiamondFire13,
I would start off slow with only 1 DSL line and 1 router to first see how your performance is. You can always add more DSL's and Router's later and then split the users up between the gateways as we have layed out for you. This will also help you adjust to the learning curve of...
Here's DiamondFire13's previous thread he was referring to

The only low-end router I've messed with is the Linksys BEFSR41. It's very user friendly and works great for a small home LAN. However, I think it would not be...
ICS uses NAT (Network Address Translation). Your computers inside can not be accessed from the outside. Set the server up as with your programs and the outside world won't have a problem.
DiamondFire13, I've emailed the new spreadsheet to you. Here is the corrected ranges for a 254 host subnet.
The internal LAN would use a 192.168.1.1 subnet with a mask of 255.255.255.0 (254 possible host addresses)
The routers (gateways) would be 192.168.1.251 / 192.168.1.252 / 192.168.1.253...
I just happened to be playing with a Linksys router and noticed a small problem with the layout I did. It's no big problem, the concept is still the same, but the Linksys (and maybe others) can't be setup for a subnet larger then 254 hosts. This is not a problem since you only said you need 50...
dirtboy ? Internal LAN games would not be an issue since all users would be on a common internal subnet. However, some games would have problems if multiple users from the same gateway wanted to join an external server, since they would all appear to be coming from the same IP (the NAT outside...
