Saw this on MacRumors... and this is why apple is doing well as a company. They could be rolling head over heels (well, they already are) in profits, but they put a lot of it back into sustainability projects.

And you know, corrosion and stuff from the water + electricity might (o_O) have a bit to do with this. The flux probably does affect the device, but the corrosion of the minerals in water will kill a device.
Could die next minute, could last another couple years. SMART errors aren't really that helpful except to tell when to get a replacement drive, from what I have read they do not provide accurate EOL estimates. Does it give SMART errors in another scanner or is it only HD Sentinel?
This is what gets me about apple... I mean Microsoft supported XP for 10 years, snow leopard is only roughly 4 years old, and if it is so vulnerable it should at least have an update to it. I know a lot of guys still running Snow Leopard. As manly said, computer OS's should be updated for more...
