Problems installing OSX

1. Every PowerBook G4 shipped at least with a Combo (DVD-ROM; CD+/-R/W) drive; your DVD should work with the internal drive (unless it is somehow broken). What model PowerBook is it? 2. Mac OS X can boot from an external Firewire volume, but not USB (at least, not without an Open Firmware...

Upcoming Mac OS X Leopard question(s)

I actually have a Core Duo iMac 20" (1GB RAM), and until late November, WoW was fairly average on it (playable when settings were low to medium). Then, Blizzard released a patch for Intel Macs that drastically improved the graphics performance, and I was then able to max out the graphics...

Congrats on your new Mac! Welcome to the platform. 1. As fisher mentioned, there is no uninstaller for Mac - just drag the application (or application folder) to the trash, and it's gone. If you want to really make sure everything's gone, there's a fun little shareware app called AppZapper...

Even when it's technically impossible to obtain a legal license for the activity discussed? Mac OS X is not available as a standalone install for Intel processors yet. It's only available bundled as original system discs with a new Mac, with a license limiting installation of the OS on that...

Well, the price has gone down to $0. The promotion states that if that happens, then there will be 3,000 licenses given out (or the promotion stops at 11:59 p.m. PDT, whichever comes first). All the bloggers who posted the promotion get a copy; I'm not sure if those 600 or so licenses come out...

$1.25 now, and it hasn't updated in about 10 minutes. I'm guessing the guy who runs MacZOT is taking a dinner break, and there are more than enough left in the approval queue to fulfill the promotion (only 25 more needed). So, if you haven't already, jump on this deal! It's a $35 shareware...
