Bookmarks missing

XP Home, w/sp2. Half of my book marks are missing. I looked in my "favorites" folder and they are not in there either. It's like it reverted back to a year ago. I rebooted and that didn't help and I am the only user profile on this computer. What could have happened? I don't back up that folder...

Is this for real , Win xp Pro $34.95 ?

It can't be legit. So, If these people will advertise and sell this stuff, what makes you think that they will not abuse you credit card info? Plus, If they got busted and you had bought from them what's the chances of your name and address being on a computer or a piece of paper around there...

overclk info

I have put together quite a few machines, but It's been a long time since I overclocked anything and I was wondering if ya'll know of any online tutorials or anything like that. I have an Asus P4G800 and a p4 1.8, ram is 512 kingston 333 (pc2700). I know this cpu is not the best for...

Backup software

I use Second Copy ( http://www.centered.com/ ) It is an awesome little program. I use autocad all day (& night sometimes) and then 2nd copy backs all of my drawings up to a 2nd hd at 3:00am. I have it configured to where it only backs up *.dwg files and not autocad's automatic back up copy...

generic mouse driver?

Thanks,.....well it did work, except for some reason the scroll still does not work in autocad. it works everywhere else..............

generic mouse driver?

I am running xp home and just bought a (cheap) new mouse. I have been hunting a generic mouse driver so that I can set the middle(wheel) button of this thing to act as a double click. I have ms and logitec software, but I don't think they will work with this mouse. On the package it says...

trouble getting started

I bought stuff for a new computer yesterday and It's giving me a bit of a fit. Here's what I got: mobo is http://www.pcchips.com.tw/925lr.html cpu is a p4 1.8 4oo fsb, 512 ddr, maxtor 7200rpm 40gb. burner and cdrom. I put my the 40gb as pri master, old hd as slave on primary, cdrom is 2nd master...

gateway memory

A friend of mine has a gateway and bought some generic memory, I think 128 pin, and it sees it but won't use it. Even if it's the only stick in there. I told him it probably needs propriety gateway memory, but he can't return the memory he bought. Is there a trick to get around this problem...

Is there a way to recall or undelete IE6 URL history? Is there any place other than the "history" and temp internet files to look for past url info? Thanks, DR

scanner bulb

I have an IBM scanner it's a 0275-001. The bulb is shot and I can't find one. Everybody acts like I should just buy a new scanner. I paid $230 (ofcourse it was a few years ago) for this thing and now I should buy a new one because the bulb is shot???

compaq laptop

Thanks for your reply. The fan comes on and stays on. I hear the hard drive spin up, but I can't tell that it is doing the POST, so I thought it might be some bad memory.

presario 1200 will not boot, blank screen even using a monitor. Does not POST. Went to check memory and there is no memory module under the cover on bottom of computer. I looked inside and I don't see a memory stick on the motherboard either, although I could have missed it there, I'm not use...

compaq laptop

I have a compaq presario1200 that has no video. I need to get in to see if there are any loose modules or connections, but I don't see how to get into it. It doesn't look like the keyboard lifts out to me. there are screws on the bottom, but I'm affraid to just start taking out screws. Anybody...
