I think I speak for everyone when I say, no, noone?s heard of any good, ie official, news. But there?s plenty of speculation it?s not far off here:

Huh, 7800 GTX AGP? It was never released!
Gainward's special edition 7800 GS+ was effectively a 7900 GT, but it wasn?t widely available. It was eventually outgunned by the slightly faster 7950 GT AGP, but this card came to market quite late, months after the much more popular X1950 Pro AGP...
All this talk about the E7300, and not one mention of the E7200 (9.5 × 266 = 2.53). While this is the first I?ve heard of the E7300, I have been looking forward to the Wolfdale-3M since around December, when the first chip was expected to be named E5xxx. It still looks like the first 45nm 3MB...
Can?t allow this topic to die on this odd note. ;)
Let?s say you know that the 320-bit GTS is available with 320MB or 640MB, and that the 256-bit GT is available with 256MB or 512MB (not to mention 1GB). Now, if you know absolutely nothing else about graphics cards, you could be forgiven for...
Erm, exactly which GV-NX88T512HP did you buy? Gigabyte has two cards with this model number, and both clock the GPU at 700MHz.
The original GV-NX88T512HP has the Zalman VF700-AlCu cooler.
The newer one is GV-NX88T512HP (rev. 1.0). This has the Zalman VF830-Cu cooler, which is...
Sounds promising. Is that the older version with the lime/white cooler or the newer copper cooler version as in this review:

I?m thinking of getting one of the upcoming AGP 7900GS or 7950GT cards when they become readily available (they haven?t made it to Australia yet).
The AGP versions look like they?re using a cooler similar to the 7800GS, whereas most PCIe versions use a smaller cooler, the same one used on the...
To clarify a couple of things.
Let?s say the loss of image quality on an LCD is due to pixel interpolation rather than "stretching/shrinking", which is actually what the OP is experiencing on his CRT without even realising it. ;)
Technically there won?t actually be any loss of image quality on a...
It?ll probably be easiest to see aspect ratio distortion when viewing static images (ie JPGs) of objects you are used to seeing regularly, like people. :)
1680x1050 should be good (you typed it correctly earlier), that seems to be what a lot of 16:10 LCDs use. 1600x1024 isn?t quite as good as...
Have another look at your PSU specs, it should have 26A on a single +12V rail, which is not too shabby by some of the standards here.

I?m also keen on the PowerColor card, and I have an Antec SmartPower 2.0 450W with 15+17=32A on +12V...
This is the first post I?ve seen implying that PowerColor's cooler (Arctic Cooling Accelero X2) is loud, everywhere else I?ve read it?s virtually silent. I thought the stock cooler on a 6800 Ultra was louder than a GT?
So far we seem to be relying on the word of one reviewer who visited a trade show. Why isn?t this all over the web? Why did PowerColor only show the card to him?
Call me a sceptic, but I think he?s taking us for a ride, or has his wires crossed. Nonetheless, I hope it eventuates. :)
Speaking of PCB design, the most striking thing about the X1950 Pros is the almost total lack of capacitors, just 4 small ones on most boards. I haven?t seen this sort of thing on a gaming class graphics card in years.
Looking at that picture, the VisionTek is one of the exceptions. I wonder...
I haven?t had a chance to soak up the FiringSquad review yet, but what did you all make of the first benchmarks (linked earlier)? I was rather underwhelmed. Perhaps it?s the frustrating wait down under, there?s no sign of anything yet.
Unlike FiringSquad, I think Hartware.net included an...
