Info on SEGA possibly getting out of the console business.
Was funny, before I went to bed the link had SEGA firmly denying everything (Which made me believe it of course) and then I wake up and
now they're saying the opposite.. ;) Doesn't mean there won't be games for it though.
I did this and got my rebates. I did have some problems burning them
in my Yamaha 4416 SCSI, but it seems to have died recently so maybe
it was just on the way out. So far I've only burned a few of them and
they're working OK. I believe they are CMC magnetics. Not the best
media, but...
Be warned, I have a KT7-RAID which is the model just prior to this
one and it refuses to take a UDMA device on both RAID channels.
System will lock up if you try to copy between the chains. GRR. And
still no fix yet. Read up on alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.abit before
you plunk your money down.
What many consumers don't understand is that there are only a few CDR
manufacturers and they OEM the discs to other companies for them to
sell under their brand names (Like FujiFilm, Memorex, Kingston etc).
Often, these companies will change who they get the CDR's from and
sometimes they use...
..And if you want some great performance in IDE, check out the IBM
drives. They've been quite reliable for me and are 7200 RPM with very
decent buffers. In fact, under most circumstances for workstation
work, they'll outperform most single SCSI drive setups. (Currently
this is the 75GXP...
From the description someone has posted here about the firmware update
(v1.07) and what that firmware does and the other packaging, I'd have
to believe that this drive is probably a rebadged Plextor drive. If
so, this is a pretty darn good price. Plextor makes some of the best
CD equipment...
Anyone know if this might be a rebadged Plextor 12x10x32x? I know
that Plextor has been selling their drives to a few others (IOmega)
so was curious if this might be one as well... If it IS...well, the
Plextor is about THE best drive out there to get. Fast, compatible
and a lot of low level...
I have a wireless access point at home and at work. It's very handy
to have! No more worrying about hooking up cables, just whip out the
laptop and go :) The range is decent for home, and if you HAVE to
you can deploy more access points to increase the coverage.
We have 2 2.4 GHz phones and...
resinboy:
The rebate is printed when you purchase the item. Read over it in the
store to be sure you understand all the details, that way you can just
hand the media back if you don't agree. ;) You get 2 forms per
spindle purchased. One goes back to Fuji, one to Circuit City.
IDE is great for the desktop and the IBM GXP series drives are about
the fastest things out there but for servers you really do need SCSI.
There are a few reasons:
1) As stated, is thruput. SCSI can pump a lot more data down the bus
than IDE can but this will only really come into play...
