Whichever you can get a better mobo for. CPU doesn't matter - more what the mobo offers (# SATA ports, PCI slots, etc.)
That's the reason I splurged on an ABIT AB9 Pro + C2D back in the day.

Forget the 3yo CPU. My E6600 is sitting on a Rev 1.0 965P-DS3 :D
X800GTO, X1950XT, 8800GTS (G80), 4850 and now 4890 - all on the same CPU/mobo and have been running like a champ!
Not really. But have you considered possibly dropping down to a 5850 and either saving the difference or spending it on upgrading the CPU/mobo/ram/etc?
Why? As long as it's a proper HID (and not cheap ass ricer retrofits), it should be fine. :confused:
Agreed on the blue (or even worse purple) though. I would never exceed 5000K.
