[WinXP] cannot see mapped drive in "my computer"

please help, i can map a network drive out to my server in widowsXP pro and it opens up the folder on the server as soon as i make the connection. the problem is when i open up My Computer i do not see the network drive. i can go into My Network Places and navigate to the folder on the server...

i just installed an IWILL kk400 motherboard with an amd xp2100+ cpu, 256mb crucial ddr pc2100, etc. it is in a super power case using a codegen 350w atx power suply. i am not over clocking this board or chip in any way and i am using a copper heatsink. my voltages are way out of spec, i think...
