It's 86 bones and looks like a basic version of their 'lanparty' model. Judging from the good reviews the lanparty one got, I'm looking into this one for a friend.
Has anyone used this motherboard?
i see one for 250 on ebay, thats good for a sony drive, but still a little on the expensive side. I was wondering what kind of drive I could substitute for the sony.
ok well the sony guy tells me that the difference between the enclosure and the sony drive is that the sony is bootable. anyone know of any bootable firewire drives cheaper than the $300 sony one?

i am positive the recovery cd is in fact a cd.
i sold the drive because i have no need for a dvd rom drive. i assumed a firewire enclosure would work fine.
Erasmus, I assumed that there would be no difference between their firewire dvd rom and a cd rom in a firewire enclosure. apparently i was wrong. i thought that i.link and ieee 1394 were synonymous, i.link just being sony's name for it.

next to the firewire input, on the little i.link port, there is a plug for the sony brand external cdroms to get dc power from. sony uses a 4 pin firewire port, so the device has to get power from the dc out. i was just wondering if in order for the device to be detected you have to have...
