anyone know what could cause this?
the power to the house shut down and now my pc will start to boot up sometimes all the way to the desktop then shut down and reboot again and it just keeps looping like that. sometimes it will come up to a blue screen and check for file integrety or somthing like that and then it will move along...
just hooked up a new wd40gb hard drive as a slave and rebooted the drive shows up under the device manager like it's working fine but the icon does not show under my computer. any suggestions?

I think it was for the Raid controller, i have it disabled in the bios cause i dont use it.
i uninstalled it in the device manager and now no problem.
what do you think??

ok now i managed to get a fresh install of xp everythings going good then bang the pc shuts down and restarts and i get the message that a file in windows\system32\config\system was ether missing or corrupt.
this drive is driving me nuts, i have a wd 20gb that i put a fresh...
I have downloaded all updated drivers from soyo and even tried all on disk sent with the board. but still have the yello exclamation mark saying via bus master ide driver not found.
anyone have any sugestions??
Ok been having some problems for a while now with os so decided to wipe out everything and start over.
now i reformated then the system went to reboot and then kept looping me back to the winxp cd to format again.
I then took out my hdd and inspected it and let it sit for a while, then put it...
Ok i got it to format it then installed system files got to the reboot started and looped me back to the cd and the formatting option. I then changed bios setting to floppy first and the system kept booting to cd then i took the cd out and it didnt detect my hdd hooked the 20gb with the fresh xp...
ok i have a WD 40gb hdd and had winxp home on it with the NTFS file system. Now i want to reformat it and put a fresh install of xp but i cant seem to reformat it.
right now i've got a wd 20gb running xp and the 40gb as back up.
