turn off beep sound for windows 2000

I have windows 2000 on my computer. I turn off all the sound in the control panel, disable the sound card. Still, everytime I click close button or when messages pop up, there a beep come from my computer. I also turn off the speaker. I went into the bios, and disable the sound card too...

FAT12?

That mean I am out of luck. I did format the card many time, and still NOMAD tells me "Unknown Format". I gess I will try to buy a smartmedia from Creative to test if it the smartmedia problem or the NOMAD itself. Anyway, thank you :(

iwill kk266 random freezes, help me!

Try to remove not only the sound card, but every pci card except the video card and see if the freeze disappear.

Tutorial for VIA 4in1 Driver?

To set DMA, go to control device manager, go into cd and ide disk setting, there should be an uncheck box that say DMA, click on it to enable. AGP turbo means that you want to run your AGP x 4, standard mode is x2. Hope this helps

Turk OC is made by some guy in Turkey, and it works only for IWILL KK266. What it does is unhide the memory setting that come with the official Iwill BIOS. From there, you can tweak your memory til your heart content. So far, all the rev 1.2 has the multiplier issue. Some board with rev 1.1...

HAHAHAHA, you crack me up :) are you serious? Do you really want to have a Pentium III with 1 MHZ and 1000 MB of RAM :) LOL. If you want to save money, don't buy Intel. Get a Socket A motherboard. Asus is fine, but not guaranteed to support future CPU from AMD. You do not need 1000MB of RAM...

Another newbie looking for mobo advice - PLEASSSE!

How about an Iwill KK266? Anand gave it a 9/10, and other sites higly recommend it too. Some people have good luck with Abit KT7, but not me. I just RMA two Abit KT7A-RAID board, not one of them working, constanly crashing. If you don't want to have headache, or time to solve problem once it...

ABIT? Did I choose the wrong board?

Yes, you have a bad board or your cpu is dead. If your cpu is working, and you did not put the heatsink fan in the CPU header 1, it will give you the beep. Check your CPU pin, did any of them get bend. I believe the problem is the CPU

Hmmm........what board should I get?

I think you should get a Asus or Iwill. If you want to get the Abit, just be prepared to spend your whole weekend to make it work.
