Can't save any files from outlook express

I suppose I'm just too lazy to turn that feature off. I just hit "Forward" on the e-mail, and then drag & drop the file from the "Attatchments:" field.

You could try booting the computer up to the log in screen and then get onto another computer that is on the network and go into network neighborhood and find that computer. It should be displayed by the computer name. I think that even when you aren't logged in, the computer is still shown as...

suggestions for a home scanner

I've got a Canon CanoScan N 650U (LIDE). I like the fact that it's powered through the USB cable, and the fact that it's so skinny. However, it scans a little slower than I would like (depending of course on the quality, color, etc.). For what you would be using it, I think it would be great...

What firewall for my fathers PC (just got broadband)

I've heard that router firewalls are better than software firewalls. If his computer is the only one connected to the modem though, I would just go with ZoneAlarm. They have a free download from their site.

Logitech Mice: MX 310 vs. MX 500

Can I not use a fan for my CPU?

Yeah, I hear T-birds run rather hot. Usually if the heatsink comes with a fan attatched, you should use the fan. If you want a fanless heatsink, check out Zalman's stuff. They still suggest plenty of case ventilation, though.

Getting a new case...have some questions

Metku.net has some good UV articles/mods. You might want to check this one out. Look around their site, they have a couple more. With UV you should be able to see the mobo alright, so I would probably go with 2 UV cold cathodes.
