I give up. I cannot get to the HV settings in BIOS (Windows 10). Kaspersky Total Security is giving me warnings about the setting, but I can't find it.
I now admit that I'm getting old.
Assuming your laptops are running some form of Windows, have you tried deleting your connection settings & re-entering them? (It's a long shot if all laptops drop at the same time, but it's worth at least looking at.)
Ink aside (hah!) I really have liked my PIXMAs. After my last run-in with HP, never again. The print drivers are horrible - way too large and clumsy. And they do take forever to install. FWIW.
Well, I for one have had good success with the Canon line, but I don't think they auto-duplex. I have come to detest HP's offerings, mainly because of the bloatware. FWIW.
Personally, I like N, but G should work. I "upgraded" to N when my house burned down and took all the computers with it. (Really, it did.) Starting from scratch has its advantages.
Did you give your network a name? Optional, but helpful (so when you see a bunch of 'linksys' or 'default' connections, you know you're not one of those...).
I've had good luck with Ubuntu 7.04 (Fiesty) with a clean upgrade to 7.10. Only problem was my wireless NIC. It was a Broadcom chip that I just couldn't get to work. After replacing that with a Cisco set it worked very well. Note: this installed and runs great on a 600 MHz laptop. Yes, I...
My wifi card (Linksys) would not work either (Broadcom chip - very flighty). I tried a Cisco card and it worked flawlessly. I've also heard that Mepis plays a bit better with hardward. FWIW.
If it's safe, I move over. Usually, I see them coming and move over first. Actually, I try not to travel in the left lane, anyway. Police look there more often than the more rightmost lanes. And. most of us are speeding anyway.
Rather than high-beams, does anybody use their left-turn...
Up and running. There were a bunch of install guides requiring parsing the PSK hex output, etc., but the easiest one I found was here. Thanks to all.

Ok, I've installed the new Cisco CB21 card. Feisty recognizes it immediately, thanks! Now I've got to figure out how to get WAP enabled. Network Manager only allows WEP, which seems a bit out of date for such a new release.
Thanks for your suggestions.
