Home NAS Recommendation

Thanks for the suggestions, but I ended up going with the Asustor AS-302T. Reviews were positive, and it apparently runs on the same SoC as the Synology DS214play. I also got a couple of 3TB WD Reds to fill it up. Comes in a couple of days, should be fun to play around with and get going!

Maybe I am thinking about this too hard. I know when I had a Windows Home Server set up, it was really difficult to get it to use TM, but that makes sense as it doesn't support AFP or Apple's file system. I was just under the impression that one needed something particular to get it to work...
