windows 2k install problem - stops mid file copy

I tried the 2nd cd-rom drive, but no go; I'll try a another disk for w2k and see if that would work. Thanks.

Hi, I'm installing w2k on a new hard drive, everything goes okay with the partioning and formatting phase, then it starts copying files, but seems to freeze around 16%. I've re-partioned and reformatted a dozen times now and still the same result. I've tried installing xp but it does the same...

Windows NT/2000 will not read my burned CDs

I have w2k and I have a similar weird problem, after the cd is burned successfully, the teac drive and pioneer drive don't read it, but if I burn one more file onto the cd, it becomes "readable." ??? Have no idea what's going on.

mixing crucial pc2100 & mushkin problem

I have Mushkin pc2100 installed on a MSI K7T266 board. Then with ddr prices going down I ordered 256MB of Crucial pc2100. As soon as I put the crucial in I had error bessages and crashes. I switched slots same thing. The crucial seems to work okay on its own, though I started hearing a buzz...

connecting zip drive to what cable?

Hi, If one IDE connector goes to the DVD and CD-RW/R, and one goes to the hard drive (and it is recommended not to pair up the hard drive with something slower), where do you connect an internal zip? Thanks. [And there are only two IDE connectors on the motherboard]

Bleep, Thanks for the advice. I took everything out except fan and cpu and p/s, still no beep. I'm replacing the motherboard, but crossing my fingers it's not the cpu. Is there anyway to know if it could be the cpu??? Thanks.

I'm giving up on this: put together a system on a KA266, new power supply 350w, matrox g450 video card; when I powered up the green motherboard led turned on, the fans turned on, the Hard drive cranked up, the floppy light when on for a few seconds, but nothing on the monitor, and the keyboard...

Bland Screen on new PC build - please Help

I have the same problem, just finished putting a system together with a KA266 2.3GHz Matrox G450 and pc2100. Nothing shows up on my monitor and no beeping sound from the speaker. I checked all the connections replugged things and still nothing. I won't be able to check the video card on another...

David, No, nothing shows on my monitor (usually when there's no signal my green on light turns orange, but that's not happening). There's no beep or sound coming from the speakers but the green led light on the motherboard goes on and all the drives turn on as well as the fans. I even...
