Can the Abit IS7 use regular Samsung PC 2700 or so Memory

For fun, I recently tested some vintage Samsung PC2700: 0208 CTLs that ruled the roost in their heyday (maybe 1.5 years ago). They actually outperformed my Corsair XMS3500 in a P4G8X. They could do 184, 2-2-2-5 at 2.7 volts whereas my Corsair could only do 2-2-2-6. And I've done DDR500, 2-2-2-5...

Epox 4PEA+ or Asus P4PE R/L, SATA?

BTW, rumors were the P48GX was one of the best overclocking GB boards but using the same CPU, I hit 184, 2-2-2-6 on the 8INXP and 181, 2-2-2-6 on the Asus board. The Asus was able to run a pair of Samsung PC2700 CTLs at 2-2-2-5, though, whereas the Gig ran them at 2-3-2-5, max VDIMM for both boards.

Epox 4PEA+ or Asus P4PE R/L, SATA?

A 4PEA+ with Corsair XMS3500 eats up every other 845 motherboard out there. VDIMM goes to 3.2, where I've done as high as DDR484, 2-2-2-5 (CPU limited). It's not the best overclocker as it gives away maybe 3-5 mhz to the BD7-II/BE7-II/BH7, but the latter is the best I've seen. The great 3DMark...

How high can a 2.0A P4 go?

Do RAM Spreaders/Heatsinks Work? Trying to get my Samsung DTL to 400DDR

How to recover from registry errors when O/C'ing?

Any things to look ouit for on the AK31A?

VIA, love them or hate them, but I did a lot of research on top overclocking boards and the Epox and Abit guys all say the K7RA and 8KHA+ boards (both KT266a) are still the best performing boards out there for the Athlon. They say don't bother upgrading to the newer 8K3A or A7V333 boards.

Googlegear pc-2700 256mb @ 410mhz ddr!!!

Most people have found that Samsung DDR, even the genuine stuff, needs to be burnt in. I have 2-256 MB sticks and 1-512 MB sticks, and they wouldn't even do 175 at 2-2-2-5-1 when new, although I believe the 1-512 did 2-2-2-4-1 up to 140. On testing I did on a 645DX board, both 2-256 and 1-512...

Best 1.6a Overclocking motherboard?

Asus P4S533!!!!!

I'm running a P4S533 at 160 FSB, mem ratio 4:5 and so have my Samsung PC2700 at 200 mhz or DDR400. I dunno, it's possible about the PCI bus being off since I can boot cleanly at up to 164 no problem and I can even pass 3DMark2001, but Serious Sam 2nd Encounter hangs while loading the demo...

What do you guys think about the P4B533-E?

That post about Intel marking their chips a while back

Yes, the heatspreaders are marked Malaysia or Costa Rica. Why go through all the trouble of marking on the CPU where the chip will be shipped to be packed? Doesn't make sense. I would think either the CPU would say U.S. or nothing but the box might say where it is packaged.

Actually the post I am referring to is not 68GTX's but the one where the engineer said to ignore the pack dates and location of manufacture, there is no difference between Malay and Costa Rican CPUs, that they are all made in the US and packed in Malaysia or Costa Rica. Then why engrave this on...
