Dual Channel memory with 3GB RAM

Correct. However, if you're running one of the chipsets listed, it may be in Dual Channel Asymmetric mode. This allows fast access to your first two gigs and single-channel bandwidth to the last gig.

RAM:FSB; 2:1 significant over 3:2?

It seems that most of the discussion over ratios and timings is about 1:1 and slightly faster ram with slightly off ratios. My question is whether going a step further up to get RAM running at 2:1 will see a significant boost or not.

Impletmented new login script at work, proves people are idiots

If things that were obvious to you as an IT person were obvious to the rest of the workforce, IT departments would be significantly smaller. Perhaps for the first week, you could have set the message to: "IT has updated the login script. If there are any issues, call the helpdesk at xXXXX"...
