Peter, someone else found this -- see link Link Is there reason to think this would not work? Thanks

What do buy to split DVI output from CPU to monitor & plasma TV

I've got a computer which only has one video output -- DVI and I want to share it with my LCD monitor and my plasma TV, both of which work off the same cable if I switch it. I'd like to get some kind of splitter to allow the output to show on both the monitor and the TV at the same time. I've...

Dell new 20" wide LCD 2005FPW. Has anyone seen this beast?

Thanks Naustica, that makes me feel better. My cable would probably be around 2 feet (maybe a little less) and I do plan to run at 1600 x 1200 resolution.

Dell new 20" wide LCD 2005FPW. Has anyone seen this beast?

Okay, if the GeForce FX 5200 may be problematic or unreliable with DVI, can someone recommend a good video card, not too expenseive, (ATI or other) for NON-GAMING use - basically 2-D usage for desktop publishing and graphics work to be used with these monitors. Thanks.

Dell new 20" wide LCD 2005FPW. Has anyone seen this beast?

I've just ordered the 2001FP and am wondering if the NVIDIA GeForce FX 52001 128MB card that came in my Dell Dimension 8300 will be adequate for it (no gaming it all -- business and DTP work)? I plan on using the DVI connector. Would appreciate advice and information on this combo; settings etc...

    System volume constantly loses space

No, I probably don't really have a need for BootVis, I think I leave it out for now. I'll go ahead and delete the trace.log file. Once again, thank you.

    System volume constantly loses space

Well, it looks like this has fixed it! I used the regedit solution. However, I noticed that had 2 other keys containing GlobalLogger HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\WMI\GlobalLogger\ and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\WMI\GlobalLogger\ Both of these and the...

    System volume constantly loses space

Thanks I will get to work on this. I can handle the regedit option, and will do that so I don't need to reinstall BootVis now. I'll report back later. And, PLEASE don't apologize -- you've been more help on this than anyone else.

    System volume constantly loses space

Well, I can tell you that just uninstalling BootVis didn't do it, because I see my space going down again since I rebooted after doing that. When you have a chance, please give me instructions as to what exactly to do with BootVis after I reinstall it. thank you.

    System volume constantly loses space

To be honest with you, I uninstalled it because it wasn't really clear to me as to how to stop its monitoring of the system. I can certainly reinstall it if that's best, but I'll wait to hear back from you if I should do that, and then what I should set or unset in it to be sure it's stopped...

    System volume constantly loses space

Thanks again. I have actually uninstalled Bootvis (and deleted the trace files) to be sure its totally gone. I'll report back a little later to see if its made a difference.

    System volume constantly loses space

Yes, I have had "hide protected system files" unchecked as well as showing hidden files. I will look into Bootvis (and dismantle it altogether). I have looked at Task Manager a number of times to try to find what causes this, but didn't find anything obvious to me (though I certainly don't know...

    System volume constantly loses space

Thanks 8ballcoupe I do have operating system files showing (system files and hidden files). I have indeed used Bootvis -- no idea if it is misconfigured since I accepted its default configuration. If that is the cause, wouldn't all of the space be lost right after booting rather than...
