Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 SP2 goes RTM

I got a Vista OS install disc from MSDN with SP2 in it and installed clean. I MUST agree here.... It is much snappier. It feels like I upgraded my PC. I finally feel like my PC runs the way my expensive components should. Very satisfied here.

lost system restore

Are you referring to the restore points being deleted? Or the Restore functionality itself is not available? You are being a bit unclear here. If you deleted the restore points you would need a data recovery program, and even then it is unlikely that you would find anything of any use.

Fast printer recommendations?

SOLVED - Cannot login to Xp Pro after removing from domain

Well I took Robor's suggestion and downloaded a password reset disk. It worked like a charm. As it turns out, my account was not a local account but in fact a domain account. I was able to log in the administrator account, create a new user and copy all of the data from the original account...

SOLVED - Cannot login to Xp Pro after removing from domain

I think you are missing the problem. I KNOW the password for my account. But after removing my computer from the domain it does not allow me to log in with it. It says "Make sure the username password and domain are typed correctly, yet there is no option for a domain.

URGENT: VPN help Netgear FVS338

Just want to say thank you guys for your help. I figured it out. I had done something very stupid. Their subnet mask for the site was 255.255.255.192 and like an idiot I used that as their LAN sm when I needed to use 255.255.255.0. Thanks again for all your suggestions.

Gigabyte DS3 vs. Asus P5b?

Memory for DS3

Value RAM will work fine now that the BIOS has been updated, but I was offering XMS2 because you said you were thinking of overclocking. I think their value line will overclock fine as long as you reduce the RAM divider so that it doesn't run above the rated 800mhz.

Memory for DS3

I got 2 x 1gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 4.4.4.12 and I can run this memory at just over 1000 on my DS3. It didn't know that it was also rated for 1066 at 5.5.5.12. It also booted right away and has never given me any problems. It is rated at 2.1v but mine runs fine on 1.8v. Hope this helps.
