???????:Q Not true at all, As jcrocco says Win98SE can use 512mb without problems, My load times in Everquest were cut in half when I went from 256mb to 512mb.

10 fps with hp pavillion in games

That TNT2 card is probably not much more powerful then the onboard graphics were, Thats why the frame rate is so low. Get a Geforce4 MX440 PCI card, It will run much better then the TNT2 and go for about $50-$60 online. Even a Geforce2 MX400 would be a big improvement over that TNT. Just stay...

I also run Win98SE on both my rigs and have no problems with it. I really hate giving Microsoft $100-$200 every 2 years for a new operating system. I would definatly upgrade your video card though. For $65 A Radeon 8500 or Geforce 3 will double your FPS on games and give you DX 8 features. The...

Leadtek TV2000XP vs ATI TV Wonder VE.

The 200mhz memory speed quoted at that site for the the Ti 4200 seems low, It should be 250mhz (500 DDR). It may be a typo but I would get it elsewhere just incase. But definatly go with the 4200.

Will a TNT2m64 or a MatroxG400 run Half-Life2 ?

The TNT2 and G400 will run like a slide show if they run at all.:frown: The Geforce2 Pro and Ti will run it much better though you will probably have to play at 600X480 resolution for decent frame rates. Any Geforce 4 MX card you get for $40 will probably not run much if any better then the...

fx5200 vs. ti200

It used to be bad enough with the MX vs Ti lines, Many people thought a Geforce4 must be better then a geforce3. Unless they got a Ti they were wrong. Now it's much worse, 3 people can buy a FX5200 and get 3 different speed cards. And none of them would be better then most Geforce 3's or 4's...

ti4200/4400/4600, XP and DirectX9

These cards work just fine with DirectX 9. All current games look just the same on a DX8 card as they do on a DX9 card. They don't support the extra features of DX9 but as far as I know there are not yet any games out that use DX9 features (except for benchmarks). Any DX9 card you get for...

HELP !!! ATI Radeon 8500 128MB (nonLE)

Are you overclocking anything? Do you have the Latest Bias update? Did you install the latest Motherboard drivers before you installed the Catalyst? Also did you try the Latest official ATi 3.6 drivers rather then just the Omega?
