PSU suggestion?

Any power supply that conforms to ATX 2.0 or later should work, though obviously the higher ATX revision the power supply is compatible with, more demanding systems will work with it.

Best motherboard chipset for new AMD processor?

Depending on the money, you might want to go for the new nForce4 chipset and get PCI-Express. Otherwise, the nForce3 chipset is probably the favorite for AGP-based boards. VIA and SiS don't seem to get much love.

It's more than enough. Just a pet peeve, but PCI-Express and PCI-X aren't the same thing. PCI-Express is PCI-E or PCIe or something like that. PCI-X is a different standard that has seen most of its use in server applications.

New Comp Specs - What Do You Think?

That power supply should be more than enough. You could save some cash on that, but it sounds like that's what you want. If you're going to go overboard on the PSU, you might as well go with 939 and run your memory in dual channel.

My New System

It looks like a nice system to me, but you could probably save yourself a wad of cash by going with a non-SLI board if you're noe going to use it. You could also cut back on the power supply- if you're not going to run dual video cards, 520 watts is a lot of overhead.

That's not necessarily true. The nForce3 chipset SATA controller is recognized by the Windows installer.

That looks fine to me, but you might as well uninstall your PATA drive and install your SATA drive first, then immediately boot into the BIOS and change the boot order, then reboot to the XP installation CD. Is there any reason you want to uninstall the PATA drive?
