card recommendation

thanks again for the advice..have the 4770 on order from the egg...too bad AMD doesn't have official drivers for it yet though! And the only reason I was thinking of upgrading my PSU was to get modular cables, I dont use over half the cables on my Turbo-Cool 510 and just wanted to clean up a bit...

ok, thanks, I know from the reviews that the 4770 performs better than the 4830 and within reach of the 4850, which is inline with its current pricing also. So if the 4830 can beat the snot out of a 7800GT, that pretty much answers my question...lol EDIT...I havent really seen too many PSU...

card recommendation

My current specs, parital E7200 OCd to about 3.5ghz 2x1gb Crucial Ballistix DDr2-800 7800GT 256mb PCI-E PCP&C Turbo-Cool 510 SLI 22" LCD 1680x1050 basically I am looking at upgrading my video card and I will be adding another 2gb of ram, but was wondering if the 4770 will net me enough...

p5n-e NB cooling

As above, need some advice for a good HS for the northbridge of my P5N-E SLI mobo. The Zalman 9700 is huge and overhangs the HS. Or should I just keep the standard HS and add a fan? And if so, what size are people using? Ive done a search, but haven't seen much on it. I am putting a Zalman...

new build opinions

NForce4 + SoundBlaster X-Fi = Problems?

ahh, thanks for clearing that up...mine is 538...no heat sink.... have you actually installed it yet? or just trying to make sure you wont have a problem when you do? wish you the best though...Im really disappointed in this product though....

NForce4 + SoundBlaster X-Fi = Problems?

well, the last 3 digits of your X-Fi are 022... I am having a problem with my Xtreme Music and my A8N SLI Premium...too many BSODs, reinstalls, etc....now Asus Update utility does not detect an Asus mobo....lol...nice one Creative...first add in card I bought in 5+ years of building/selling...

need X2 cooler advice

I have an X2 3800+ coming to go with an Asus A8N-SLI Premium board (w/ passive heatpipe on northbridge and mosfet) I want to overclock, if I can, to at least 2.5ghz like my current 3200+ Winchester. What HSF should I use... I currently have a Thermaltake Venus 12 HSF which keeps my proc...

7800GTX or 2 7800GTs

by the time the R580 actually reaches retail channels, Nvidia will have its next refresh out, if not its next card, plus Id prefer SLI to the mess that Crossfire is right now...oh I wish ATI returned to form like the old 9700/9800 Pro days... I just ordered a single 7800GT for right...

basically as title really, 2 evga 7800GT 517s run around $640, will 2 of these be faster than a single 7800GTX? EDIT...found an old post, MODS can delete this thread.

memory failure on my MSI mobo

i cant be sure, but those timings seem pretty aggressive for 1 gb sticks....maybe slack up a bit on the timings and see if that helps.

Video upgrade worth it? Please help new member :)

slightly off topic... You can upgrade dell PSUs, PC Power & Cooling makes replacement Dell PSUs. Also, I forget exactly when, but for a while Dell did use standard ATX PSUs. Im not sure when they went to a proprietary ATX PSU though...
