Abit KT7A or Asus A7V133??

Get Abit or Iwill. Both are good and look alike. I have Abit KT7A-RAID and so far I am very pleased with it. Both can carry Palomino in the future and are easy for overclock. Iwill is cheaper, hence has more value.

Thunderbird 900 or 1GHz? Which has fastest FSB on KT133A chipset ?

Get TB900 and look for a blue core. The official fsb designation doesn't make any difference. You can push it at 133 an over anyhow.

Results for overclocking 1G T-Bird on KT7a

I had Windows instability problems with my 1G@1.2G. The resolution was in the RAM cycle setting. I backed it down from 2 to 3 and now it works fine @ fsb 142. (2x128 pc133 micron cas3 sticks). If you get a better RAM you'll be more successful pushing it at high fsb.

Is Running An AMD Thunderbird 1GHZ @1.1GHZ AT 46C TOO HOT?

With my current system I had 45C with Tb1G @1.2G/stock hs. After a sacrifice for Alpha PAL6035 now I have 40C.

How much $$ have YOU spent on hardware you don't REALLY need in the past year??

I can hear you.... After 12 years spent with this hobby I can tell you that nowdays you need about $450/year to be relatively satisfied with your hardware. If you can keep yourself around that amount you're OK. I know people though, who are spending a lot more without beeing able to afford it...

I have CORSAIR PC133 2x128MB CAS2 and both modules work flawlwssly at 148MHz in CAS2 mode.
