It should. My 8800gt works fine after I updated the video cards bios. Since the 9800gt is almost the same thing but newer, your bios on that should already be fixed. Worst case scenario is that youll have to update the vid card bios on another motherboard.

Have you tried deleting all USB devices in Device Manager and then letting Windows refind them ?

On my 8800GT, Ive found I need to have it ENABLED to get rid of the artifacting on fire in Quake 4. However, I need to DISABLE or AUTO it otherwise my MediaPlayerClassic DVD player doesnt work right.

I wouldnt let that make your decision. Even with the bottlenecks, the 4850 will still get the higher scores.

Look through the posts on this thread way back to Dec or Jan, I had posted good bios settings for the 2180 at 2800 mhz (280 X 10). Its better (to get more memory bandwidth) to run 1:1 266(ddr2 533) with the lowest timings than at using a split ratio. Bios 2.5 ????? There is no such thing...

Look to see what Computer Mangement > Event Viewer in XP says after a shutdown, it can give you a lot of good info.

Try a new battery and check your 5 VSB voltage. If its below +4.85 volts, it can give you trouble.

Got my PNY 8800GT flashed with the EVGA 62.92.24.00.01 bios. 8851 3Dmarks in 3Dmark06 first time, no tweaks, just stock settings 600/1500/1800. Not too bad.

Definately. Im surprised it powered your AIW x800xt. It is obviously an exceptional 300watt psu, but if you dont want to burn it and the rest of your stuff up, get a higher power unit pronto.

Generally running in a 1:1 ratio at 533mhz at 3-3-3-9 T1 will give the best performance. My cheap Adata pc6400 low voltage ram allows me to do this. The voltage setting on high on this board is only about 1.9volts, and I believe your Crucial needs that just for Cas 5. Look for cheap low voltage...
